An application for the post of an accounts clerk. ਰੂਪ-ਰੇਖਾ- ਭੂਮਿਕਾ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੇਲੇ, ਮੇਲਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਾਣਾ, ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਪਿਛੋਕੜ, ਮੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼, ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਨਜ਼ਾਰੇ, ਭੰਗੜਾ ਤੇ ਮੈਚ, ਲੜਾਈ ਤੇ ਭਗਦੜ, ਵਾਪਸੀ, ਸਾਰ-ਅੰਸ਼, ਭੂਮਿਕਾ- ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਦਾ ਮੇਲਾ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ 13 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਥਾਂਥਾਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹਾੜੀ ਦੀ ਫਸਲ ਦੇ ਪੱਕਣ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੇਲੇ- ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਰੁੱਤਾਂ, ਤਿਉਹਾਰਾਂ ਅਤ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਤੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਉਤਸਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ। ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੜੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਤੇ ਰੰਗੀਨੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦ ॥ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਇੰਨੇ ਹਰਮਨ-ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਦਾ ਚਾਅ ਲਕ ਗੀਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਅੰਕਿਤ ਹੈ; ਜਿਵੇਂ-, ਮੇਰਾ ਕੱਲੀ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ, ਵੇ ਲੈ ਚਲ ਮੇਲੇ ਨੂੰ।, ਚਲ ਚਲੀਏ ਜਰਗ ਦੇ ਮੇਲੇ, ਮੁੰਡਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਉ, ਮੇਲਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਾਣਾ- ਇਹ ਮੇਲਾ ਸਮੂਹਕ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬੜੇ ਚਾਅ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਮੇਲਾ ਵੇਖਣ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਅਸੀਂ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਬੱਚੇ, ਬੁੱਢੇ, ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਮੇਲਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਂ-ਬਾਪ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਂਗਲੀਆਂ ਫੜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੜਾ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਸਭ ਨੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਕਣਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਾਢੀ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਗਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਣਕਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੱਗ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਸੋਨਾ ਖਿਲਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ।, ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਪਿਛੋਕੜ– ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਾੜੀ ਦੀ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਦੇ ਪੱਕਣ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਿਕ ਘਟਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਸਾਜਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਦਿਨ ਪੰਜ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਛਕਾ ਕੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਛਕਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਅਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਖੂਨੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਗਈ। 13 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ, 1919 ਈਸਵੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਜ਼ਾਲਮ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਡਾਇਰ ਨੇ ਜਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਾਗ਼, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਚਲਾ ਕੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਨਿਹੱਥੇ ਭਾਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭੁੰਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ।, ਮੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਦਿਸ- ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ-ਕਰਦੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਮੁੱਜ ਗਏ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ-ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਸੱਜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਸਭ ਪਾਸੇ ਰੌਲਾਰੱਪਾ ਸੀ।ਕਾਫੀ ਭੀੜ-ਭੱੜਕਾ ਸੀ। ਕੁੱਝ ਬੱਚੇ ਖਿਡੌਣੇ ਖਰੀਦ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਕੁਝ ਝੂਟੇ ਲੈ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਔਰਤਾਂ ਚੂੜੀਆਂ, ਬਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਆਦਿ ਸਮਾਨ ਖਰੀਦ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਇੱਕ ਮਠਿਆਈ ਦੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ਤੇ ਜਲੇਬੀਆਂ ਬਣ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਗਰਮ-ਗਰਮ ਜਲੇਬੀਆਂ ਖਾਧੀਆਂ।, ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਨਜ਼ਾਰੇ– ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਘੂੜੇ ਝੂਟਦਿਆਂ ਦੇਖਕੇ ਸਾਡਾ ਮਨ ਵੀ ਪੰਘੂੜੇ ਝੂਟਣ ਤੇ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ। ਅਸੀਂ ਪੰਘੂੜੇ ਝੂਟੇ।ਜਾਦੂਗਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਲ੍ਹ ਦਿਖਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਨੋਟ ਸਾੜ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਸੇ ਨੰਬਰ ਦਾ ਨੋਟ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਖੇਲ ਦਿਖਾਏ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨਜ਼ਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਧਨੀ ਰਾਮ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਦੇ ਮੇਲੇ ਦੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਸਤਰਾਂ ਯਾਦ ਆਉਣ ਲੱਗੀਆਂ-, ਭੰਗੜਾ ਤੇ ਮੈਚ- ਜੱਟ ਥਾਂ-ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਾਬਾਂ ਪੀ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਭੰਗੜਾ ਪਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਢੋਲੀ ਢੋਲਕ ਵਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਸ਼ਾਮ ਪੈਣੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੀੜ ਹੱਦ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਵੱਧ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਦੰਗਲ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਕਬੱਡੀ ਦਾ ਮੈਚ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਮੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।, ਲੜਾਈ ਤੇ ਭਗਦੜ- ਸੂਰਜ ਛਿਪਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਹੀ ਜੋਰ-ਜੋਰ ਦੀ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਵਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਦੇਖਣ ਤੇ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਦੋ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੜਾਈ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਡਾਂਗ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਪਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਸੀਂ ਜਲਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਥੋਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ।, ਵਾਪਸੀ- ਅਸੀਂ ਘਰ ਲਈ ਥੋੜੀਆਂ ਗਰਮ ਜਲੇਬੀਆਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਤੇ ਆਪਣ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਘਰ ਪਹੁੰਚਦਿਆਂ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।, ਸਾਰ-ਅੰਸ਼- ਮੇਲਾ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ| ਪਰ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਰੂਹ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਲੇਖਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਨੇ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਸੁਣਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਦੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਮੀਰ ਬਣਾਈਏ।.
